Obituary for Robert E. Loose

Robert E. Loose, 99, of Tekonsha, passed away Monday, February 15, 2020 at Drew’s Place of Coldwater. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Bob was born January 28, 1922 in Batavia Twp., MI to Ernest & Cora (Dubendorf). He served with great pride in the US Marine Corp. from 1942-1945 during the Invasion of Guam, where he was wounded, earning a Purple Heart. Bob married Margaret E. Wood on November 18, 1945 in Coldwater, MI. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2020.
Bob owned and operated Standard Plumbing which later became Standard Mechanical Contractor’s for over 40 years.
Mr. Loose was a member of the Coldwater First Baptist Church and had also attended the Free Methodist Church. He was active in many community organizations belonging to the Elks #1023, the Coldwater American Legion, Noon Rotary, where he was the proud recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship award and Camp 12(cabin at Trout Creek in the Upper Peninsula). Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed waterfowl hunting, deer hunting, skiing and snowmobiling. He was crafty with leaded glass work and woodworking. Bob had also enjoyed flying airplanes, owning a Cessna aircraft.
Bob is survived by his brother Wilford “Red” Loose of Coldwater, his sister-in-law Gene Copeland of Tekonsha and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters Phyllis Wagar, Wilma Olney-Everett and baby sister Virginia Loose.
