Ricky D. Cox, 66, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Interment of ashes will be at Mason Cemetery. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Ricky was born June 19, 1953 in Coldwater, MI to Jimmie and Belva (Erskine) Cox. He was self-employed, working for many years as a welder, also teaching others to weld. Ricky was a chef, having worked at Big Boy and Sportsman’s Restaurants and butchered hogs for Bob Evans in Hillsdale.
Mr. Cox was a member of Jesus Name Apostolic Church, an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ricky is survived by his children Ricky Cox, Jr of Coldwater, Amanda Hull of Hillsdale, Crystal (Christopher) McLaughlin of Kalamazoo, his siblings Mary Larue (Tom) Spaulding of Coldwater. Michael Cox of Coldwater, Jeffery (Laurie) Cox of Coldwater, his granddaughters Hayleigh, Elizabeth, Lyndsey, Cheyenne, Ashley, Crystal, his grandson Cody, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by both parents.
