Obituary for Richard "Righty" Cummings
Richard L. “Righty” Cummings, 60, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Richard was born July 9, 1959 in Trenton, MI to Thorton “Lefty” and Gladys (Workman) Cummings. Richard married Carol (Greene) Hart on February 2, 2017 in Coldwater.
Mr. Cummings worked many years for the city of Taylor. Following his retirement from Taylor, he traveled with Homeland Security, constructing towers and operating heavy equipment, for the past 20 years.
Richard was a member of the Coldwater American Legion and a former member of the Quincy Post. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and doing yard work. He enjoyed watching television, especially old westerns.
Richard is survived by his wife Carol, his children Brandon Cummings, Colin Cummings both of Taylor, his step children Stacey Hart and Laura Blankenship both of Coldwater, his siblings Roger Cummings of Taylor, Donna Davey of Coldwater, his granddaughter Adrianna, his step grandchildren Alicen, Desiree, Tory, Gregory, Jacob and Connor and his former wife Sherri Cummings of Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Cummings and his sister Betty Cummings.
