Obituary for Richard E. Hoard

Richard E. Hoard, 77, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home in Bronson. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00-5:00 PM at 158 W. Hatmaker Road Coldwater, MI. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Richard was born April 1, 1947 to Walter and Wanda (Hawk) Hoard in Battle Creek, MI. Richard was a graduate of Bronson High School class of 1965 where he then honorably served his country in the United States Army. On March 28, 1970 Richard married Judith C. Smith and she survives. Richard was a dedicated, life-long farmer and owned and operated his own trucking business until his retirement. He was a member of Teamsters, the Matteson Town Hall, and the “Tuesday Breakfast Club.” Aside from his passion for farming and driving, Richard enjoyed fishing, horse pulls and antique tractor pulls, auctions, and always looked forward to his and Janene’s trips to Lansing for the horse pulls. Valuing his family above all else, Richard will be dearly missed as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his wife Judith Hoard of Bronson, Richard leaves behind his children Orie (Tammy) Hoard of Bronson, Janene (Bret Cary) Wasnich of Coldwater; his grandchildren Corie (Misty Lancaster) Hoard, Kegan (Meadow Christman) Brown, Sage Cary, Elizabeth (Nate) Hull, Darbi (Ernest Miller) Slaughter, Brianna (Jeffrey) Anthony; his great grandchildren Lincoln Hoard, Aspen Hoard, Novalyn Mcmahan, Huxley Brown, Remington Hull, Elijah Hull, Sydney Hull, Brantley Anthony, Eastyn Anthony, two more great grandchildren to soon arrive; his many loving nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Tucker.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Buster.
