Obituary for Richard C. Fincham

Richard C. Fincham, 67 of Coldwater passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will take place at a later date at Lockwood Community Church. The family has been cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater.

Richard was born October 4, 1951 to Franklin and Velda (Miller) Fincham in Coldwater. He graduated from Coldwater High School and then started a long working career with Acorn, where he worked for 28 years until the closing of the business. Richard then started his own truck hauling company moving campers throughout the United States. He retired in 2014 after 15 years of driving due to his health. On January 6, 1973 he married the love of his life, Darlene Mason in Coldwater.

Richard was a man with many interests. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially going hunting, fishing and boating with friends. He also liked to work on cars and go bowling. Richard was an avid fan of music, listening to rock & roll whenever possible and while traveling for work. His true joy in life was being around his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for being funny and quick with a comeback and also his willingness to help anyone in need.

Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Darlene Fincham of Coldwater; his daughters Jessica (Chris) Riddle of Cynthiana, KY and Maria (Joel) Sherman of Coldwater; his siblings George Fincham of Battle Creek, Norma Jean (Don “Butch”) Vanderpool of Algansee Township, Robert Fincham of Homer and Susan Hufnagle of Coldwater; his grandchildren Anastasia Newman, Branden (Samantha) Billman, and Jacinda Sherman; and his great grandchildren Vinxe Cabarello, Beck Billman, and Baylor Billman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
