Obituary for Phyllis L. Coffey

Phyllis L. (Marshall) Coffey, 86 of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 surrounded by her family after a short illness.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Jeff Bream of Northview Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery.

Phyllis was born January 5, 1933 to Carl and Mary (Moade) Singer in Mt. Carmel, IL. She owned and operated the original Marshall’s Channel Stop with her second husband Ed Marshall. After selling the Channel Stop, Phyllis worked at JC Penny for 17 years before retiring. On Oct 15, 2001 Phyllis married Terry Coffey, Sr. in Sevierville, TN.

Phyllis enjoyed bowling, reading, camping, gardening, and playing cards. She was a long time member of the Coldwater Elks. Phyllis’ true joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Terry Coffey, Sr. of Coldwater; her children Terry (Judy) Mann of Michigan Center and Tracy (Greg) Sharp of Coldwater; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren; her brothers Don (Barbara) Singer and Jack (Marcia) Singer; her sister Shirley Barnett; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Curtis Ray Mann and her second husband Edson Marshall.
