Peggy C.  (LaMee) Downer
Peggy C. (LaMee) Downer, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Laurels of Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Peggy was born March 8, 1939 in Chattanooga, TN to James & Mildred (Pope) Ragon. She married Lester E. LaMee on May 6, 1960, he preceded her in death on December 11, 1992. She then married Jerry L. Downer on May 29, 2005 in Coldwater.
Peggy was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at the Coldwater State Home and also at Midwest Foundry. She enjoyed reading and animals but most of all spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her husband Jerry, her daughter Kandye Dyer of Coldwater, her son Lee (Mike) LaMee of Chicago, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband Lester, she was also preceded in death by her sister Susie Morpeth, step son Steven Downer and step daughters Patty Downer and Julie Tilton.
