Patricia M. Weis, 94 of Coldwater passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Maple Lawn.

A celebration of Pat’s life will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at JT’s Billiards Bar & Grill, Coldwater, Michigan from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Attendees are encouraged to wear Detroit Tigers fan apparel. A private interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater.

Patricia was born June 7, 1924 to William and Gertrude (Kennedy) Giertz in Blissfield, Michigan, the eldest of their eight children. The family later moved to Detroit, where she & her siblings grew up. On November 27, 1943 she married Leo Weis of Hancock, Michigan and they had five children. Leo preceded Pat in death on September 4, 1993.

Pat was a devoted mother and homemaker all of her married life, while working in several occupations as well. She and Leo owned and operated a ceramic shop in Ann Arbor, she was a post mistress and after moving to Coldwater a bus driver for the Coldwater Community Schools and sports teams until her retirement. Pat was an accomplished seamstress & quilter. She enjoyed keeping her mind busy solving Sudoku and crossword puzzles as well as reading mystery novels. Pat was an avid sports fan, following a variety of local teams, her children and grandchildren’s teams and her beloved Detroit Tigers. She also spent much time volunteering at the Burnside Senior Center.

Patricia is survived by her children Nora (Peter) Fair, Gary (Heidi) Weis and John Weis all of Coldwater; her grandchildren Brad (Renee) Weis of Holland, Michigan, Emily (Matt Budd) Fair of Ferndale, Michigan, Jennifer, Hallie and Megan Weis, Kelsie (Lucas) Tice, and Kahle Weis all of Coldwater; her great-grandson Beau Martin of Coldwater; her sisters Lucille Ducher, Mildred Baert, and Nora Weaver; her sister-in-law Irene Giertz; her brother-in-law Melvin Pioch; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo; her sons William Weis and Patrick Weis; her grand-daughter Katie Weis; her brothers William and Fred Giertz; her sisters Geraldine Pioch and Sharon Cobb; her brothers-in-law Joseph Ducher and Al Baert.
