Obituary for Patricia Kay Male
Patricia Kay Male, 83, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at Drews Place of Coldwater. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM at the church. Burial of ashes will be at The Oak Grove Columbarium in Hillsdale. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Patt was born in Hillsdale, MI to Andrew and Barbara (Ebert-Todd) Ingle. Patt was preceded in death by her father Andrew; mother Barbra (Ebert-Todd) Ingle; stepfather Kermit Ingle; brother Ted Todd; sister Janet (Ingle) McNeil and her husband Daryl; and brother Robert Ingle, all from Hillsdale.
Patt attended Western Michigan University and later transferred to Hillsdale College where she graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education.
On August 22, 1964, Patt married Gary L. Male, who survives. Patt spent 32 years teaching first grade at Quincy Community Schools until her retirement in 1993. She attended the First Baptist Church in Coldwater and was a member of Altrusa. She also dedicated her time to the American Cancer Society-Relay for Life and the P.T.A. Her love for animals was a big part of her life. She was a supporter of the Branch County Humane Society. Patt enjoyed traveling, watching virtually any sport (especially U of M), and playing cards; but above all, she loved spending time with her grandsons, family, and the numerous people she was fortunate to call friends.
In addition to her husband, Gary, she leaves behind her son Todd (Jennifer) Male of Ypsilanti; three grandsons Grant, Gavin, and Garrett Male; brother Kermit (Buzz) Ingle and wife Gwen of Sterrett, Alabama; sister-in-law Kay Todd of Saline, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
