Obituary for Norman J. Leny

Norman Joseph Leny, 77 of Bronson passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Fairview Living in Centreville due to complications of Covid-19 and end stage renal disease.

In following the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Norman was born May 26, 1943 to Sylvester and Edith (Anderson) Leny in Gulliver, MI. He graduated from high school and then continued on his education in trade school learning to become a skilled carpenter. Norman worked both for himself as an independent carpenter and also many years with the Carpenters Local 525 out of Battle Creek, retiring in 2000. He also proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard.
Norman enjoyed doing farm work, where he raised cattle. Being outdoors going hunting and fishing were hobbies that he liked to be involved in when possible. Norman was very handy and always seemed to have a project going around the home, farm, or in the garden. His true joy in life was his being around his family, especially his grandchildren.

Norman is survived by his children Lisa (Cody) Cripe of Sturgis and Joseph (Marissa Houghton) Leny of Bronson; his brother David (Teresa) Leny of Greenfield, IN; his grandchildren Briley, Wesson, and Kimber Cripe and Jayden Leny. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Robert, John, George, and Arnold Leny; and his sisters MaryAnn Thorell and Nancy Johnson.
