Obituary for Nelda R. Frederick
Nelda R. Frederick, 92, of Coldwater, formerly of Indiana, passed away at the home of her daughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Nelda was born November 23, 1929 in Decker, IN to Frank & Jessie (Graham) Lane. She married Harold “Preach” Frederick, Jr. on June 5, 1948 in Decker, IN. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2016.
Mrs. Frederick was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She earned her LPN certification and worked in both private home and skilled nursing care and for Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN for many years.
Nelda spent most of her life in Indiana, moving to Coldwater to be closer to her daughter in recent years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where her husband served as pastor in central Indiana. She had a great love of music and was a gifted singer. Nelda was the Choir Director at her churches for many years.
Nelda is survived by her children Mark (Cathy) Frederick of Jamestown, IN, Jayne (Charles) Lillis of Coldwater, David (Julie) Frederick of Franklin, IN; her grandchildren Elyse (Matt) Powell of Tucson, AZ, Julia Frederick of Jamestown, IN, Bethany (Doug) Tisdale of Lakeview, CO, Jessie Lillis of Philadelphia, PA, John (Elizabeth) Frederick of Indianapolis, IN; great grandchildren Lyla Powell, Adelaide Powell, Coraline Kidwell, Isaac Kidwell, Alexandra Tisdale, Liam Frederick, Owen Frederick and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Ellis Lane, Herschel Lane, Herbert Lane, Ival Lane, Bobby Lane, Phoebe Lane Croslow and Beulah “Boots” Lane Walker.
