Michael Lee Tompkins (Mike), age 66, left for heaven, Feb. 21, 2021, after a short bout with cancer. He was born in Coldwater, MI to Carl J. & Dorothy (VanDyke) Tompkins and spent his life in and around the Coldwater area working at a variety of occupations, including farming & factory work.

Mike enjoyed camping, bear hunting and fishing in his younger days but lately contented himself with his garden, cutting wood, helping people with jobs around their homes, and with his intarsia hobby. He was very talented with woodworking and created many beautiful gifts.

Mike often reminded us to count our blessings each morning as was his habit. He saw God's handiwork all around him in nature and liked hiking back to the woods behind his farm to find peace in the quietness. He read the Bible often and was always interested in learning more from God's word.

Mike is survived by his brother Jim Tompkins and sisters Carol (Dave) Foust and Sheryl DeWitt. He is also survived by his Uncle Pete and Aunt Elaine VanDyke and Aunt Marge VanDyke, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. His parents, Carl and Dorothy, welcomed him home.

For all family and friends, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
