Obituary for Melissa K. Knowles
Melissa K. Knowles, 61, of Coldwater, while surrounded by her family, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00AM at the Coldwater Free Methodist Church with Pastor Drew Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. The service will be webcast through the funeral home website. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 4-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Melissa was born June 22, 1959 in Hillsdale, MI to Eugene & Gwendolyn (Davis) Fry. She married Randall F. Knowles on June 14, 1981 in Hillsdale.
Melissa was currently the office manager for Dr. Bosco Chan, DDS and Dr. Evan Frederick, DDS for the past 27 years. She was a member of the Coldwater Free Methodist Church and a former member of the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church. Melissa loved primitive antiques and together with her husband, they have operated the “Primitive Connection” antique shop in Allen for many years. She enjoyed creating beautiful arrangements for her shop and decorating at home. Melissa loved arts and crafts, painting and gardening. She enjoyed lake life with her family and friends, boating and spending time on the water. Melissa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren.
Melissa is survived by her husband Randy, her children Andrew (Jennifer) Knowles of Okemos, Luke (Jenna) Knowles of Wayland, Caleb (Rebekah) Knowles of Mattawan, Seth Knowles of Quincy, Rebekah Knowles of Allendale, her parents Gene & Gwen Fry of Allen, her brothers Harley (Marianne)Fry of New Orleans, LA, Matthew Fry of Castle Rock, Co, her grandchildren Bryn & Benjamin, Tenley, Taylor & Madelyn, Brooklyn & Logan, her mother-in-law Joyce Knowles of Hillsdale and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebekah’s twin, Rachel Knowles in 1990.
