Obituary for Mary Lou Swick

Mary Lou Swick, 79, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Drews Place of Coldwater. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Hillsdale. Mary Lou Swick was born on June 5, 1941 to Louis and Mary (Vass) Gostola in Toledo, Ohio. Mary Lou graduated from Reading High School in 1959. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Roger Swick in 1960 at Hillsdale St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mary Lou worked at the family business of Swick TV and Appliance for over 20 years. Mary Lou loved to cook, play the organ, church and having her children and family close. She will always be remembered for being a devoted wife and mother, always putting others before herself. Mary Lou was well known for being kind, having a good sense of humor, generous and cheerful. She was a longtime member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater, Michigan. Mary Lou is survived by her husband Roger Swick; her children Natalie (William) Halmi-Simonds, Amy (Kevin) Ahearn, Susann (Ben) Pingree, Steve (Tracy) Swick, and Dan (Kim Bystry) Swick; her sisters Anita (Alfred) Godfrey and Kathy (Paul Gorczyca) Gostola; her grandchildren Daniel Halmi, Ashely Forster, Alex Leonard, Benjamin Pingree, Jr., Sidney Mary Swick, Lauren Swick, Abigail Swick, and Connor Swick; many great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Louis Gostola, Jr.
