Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Lukas can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Mary A. Lukas

Mary A. Lukas, 93, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Laurels of Coldwater.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4-8:00 PM, with the rosary to begin at 7:00 PM, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Paul Redmond officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends, prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Church.
Mary was born April 6, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Joseph & Antonette (Zitkevicius) Pechulis. She married Victor S. Lukas on September 1, 1945 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2011.
Mrs. Lukas was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and spent many years volunteering for various organizations. She served as secretary for the American Red Cross and on the Branch Co. Board of Canvasser’s for over 20 years, checking election ballots. Mary was a selfless, giving woman, who enjoyed helping others.
Mary is survived by her children Marie (Steven) Konopacki of Ann Arbor, Victor (Linda) Lukas of Sedona, AZ, Terri (Kent Wood) Lukas of Chevy Chase, MD, her sister Anna Nichols of Coldwater, her grandchildren Elizabeth Wood of Los Angeles, CA, Sebastian Wood of Seattle, WA, Raleigh Lukas of Berkley, CA, nephews and niece Tom (Valerie) Mitchell, Matt Mitchell and Vidas Stanevitchene all of Coldwater. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Berniece Mitchell and nephew Richard Mitchell.
Memorials may be directed to St. Charles School or the American Cancer Society.
