Obituary for Mary Lou Philson

Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Philson, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 at her home, just 2 days after her 90th birthday.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Frank Queen from Snow Prairie Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Mary Lou was born May 21, 1932 in Three Oaks, MI to Eber & Anna (Klute) Hacker.
Mary Lou spent her 24 year career, caring for others, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. In earlier years she had worked as a switchboard operator for GTE.
She attended Snow Prairie Bible Church and formerly Lockwood Community Church. Mary Lou was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and enjoyed the art of embroidery and gardening. She truly loved people and was known for her “gift to gab”. What she treasured most was her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Mary Lou is survived by her children Beth Philson of St. Louis, MI, Brian (Bonnie) Philson of Horton, Brad (Tammy) Philson of Bronson; her grandchildren Tabatha (Nick) Mason, Darrell (Shawna) Crute, Chad (Hannah) Philson, Brandon (Loren Robison) Philson, Emilee (Luke) Stanczyk, Drew (Claire) Philson and Jenna (Zach) Hulliberger; her great grandchildren Molli & Maci, Cadence & Harper, Ivan & Hank and Ellis; several nieces and nephews and her special honorary grandson Elijah Queen. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Ralph Hacker, Ray Hacker, Bonita Kliss, Ruth Hartley, Lois Schultz, Lucille Cummings, Marge Bonham, Gert Gochanour and Pauline Gamby as well as their spouses.
Memorials may be directed to the Snow Prairie Bible Church Children’s Ministry, but she also really loved flowers.
