He began his 38 year career in 1948 with Michigan Association, which later merged with General Telephone, retiring in 1986 as a division service manager. He had served as past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Davison and the Gilead Lake Association in Bronson and was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak. As a young adult Marvinn enjoyed playing softball and had found success in the ring of boxing. Later, his interests shifted to hunting, fishing, and most of all golfing. Blackie harbored a heart of true devotion not only to his family but to all who shared in his journey of life. He will be dearly missed as a father, grandfather, and friend.
