Obituary for Mark Robert Krutsch

Mark Robert Krutsch passed away at home on May 31, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, and his faithful dog. He was 68 years old. Up until the very end of his yearlong fight with cancer, Mark told everyone that he was “doing good.” His relentless optimism influenced everyone around him, giving his family hope that he might be with us just a little longer.
Mark was born May 17, 1954, In Wyandotte, Michigan, and was baptized at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was confirmed at St. Charles Catholic Church, and he graduated from Coldwater High School in 1973.
Mark owned and operated many businesses over the years, including The Farm and Garden Center, Quincy Heights Grocery, Quincy U-Haul, and Sirens Restaurant, just to name a few. He was a mechanical genius, and could build or repair anything. He had a generous heart, and would gladly share his time and skills with anyone who needed a hand. Mark loved the outdoors and spent his leisure time hunting, fishing, and boating on Marble Lake. But most of all, he treasured spending time with his family. We will miss his unwavering optimism and kind, easygoing nature.
Mark is survived by his son Michael and Katlyn (Henderson) Krutsch, and grandson Zain of Angola, and step-daughter Kristy (Rob) Morris, and grandsons Cole and Lane of Litchfield.
He leaves his mother, Dorothea M. Seat, and siblings, Suzanne (Daniel Parish) Starley, Dr. Matthew (Karen) Krutsch, and Sharry Krutsch, and nephews, Adam and Jacob Krutsch.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert C. Krutsch, and nephew, John Matthew Krutsch. Mark will be forever missed by his dear friend, Mark Burkholder.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Mark’s name to Animal Aide of Branch County or to Branch Area Food Pantry.
Service arrangements are being handled by Dutcher Funeral Home, with the visitation Tuesday, June 7, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and Rosary at 6:30pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The funeral mass is Wednesday, June 8, at 10:30am, at St. Charles Catholic Church.
