Marjorie Evelyn North, 95, of Battle Creek, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel in Battle Creek with Pastor Jim Codde officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Marjorie was born August 14, 1922 to Herschel and Hazel (Owen) Peters in Morgan County, Tennessee. After graduating from Battle Creek Central High School, she worked for many years at Transamerica in Battle Creek but Marjorie will be mainly remembered as a wonderful homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Battle Creek since 1937 and she was also involved with their Woman’s Circle. She volunteered for the American Red Cross. Marjorie enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with family and attending family events.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters; Mary Ann (Wayne) Eifler of Battle Creek and Shirley Dickens of Battle Creek, her step daughters; Ruth Ann (Bob) Haller of Webberville, Nancy (Clark) Mead of Edwardsburg and Marcia (Shirland) Redfield of Battle Creek, her sister; Donna (William) Lang of Battle Creek, her 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 husbands, Clyde Prayor, Verbal France and John North, 2 daughters; Carol DeGraw and Margaret (Midge) Rodriguez, 2 sisters; Kathaleen DeForest and Juanita Older.
