Obituary for Marilyn J. Palmer

Marilyn J. Palmer, 88, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Clermont, FL.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy with Pastor Frank Snyder officiating. The family will receive friends,prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 from 5-7:00PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Marilyn was born April 17, 1929 in Van Wert, OH to Lloyd & Thora (Norris) Herring. She married Vernon Palmer on January 17, 1948 in Van Wert, OH, he preceded her in death in September of 1996.
Mrs. Palmer was a secretary with the Coldwater Community School System for 25 years. She had worked at nearly all of the elementary schools, Legg Middle School, Coldwater High School and was very involved in the school secretaries union. Marilyn was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy. She had a great love of music and served as director of the church choir for many years. She loved to play piano and sing. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children Jeffrey (Lisa) Palmer of Quincy, Johnna (Dennis) Langwell of Clermont, FL, daughter-in-law Doreen Palmer of Nokomis, FL, her grandchildren Kevin (Asta) Palmer, Eric (Sandra) Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, Steve (Amanda) Hildabrand, Michelle (Nate) Tippmann, Lindsey Langwell, Lauren Palmer, Molly Palmer, Jason (Stephanie) Langwell, Ginger (Tom) Lower and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son Gordon Palmer and her sister Joyce Jerome.
Memorials may be directed to the Bryan College Scholarship Fund, Dayton TN.
