Marian “Mary Ellen” Daley, 86 of Coldwater passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Maple Lawn.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Holt of East Ovid United Brethren Church officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be at 3:00 pm Thursday at Vicksburg Cemetery.

Marian was born September 23, 1932 to David and Marian (Bates) Mathis in Vicksburg. On May 18, 1968 she married Arthur Daley. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2001.

Mary Ellen was a long-time member of the East Ovid Church, where she was active with food preparation for many events. She was very involved with the Branch County Fair in the Women’s Barn. Mary Ellen and Art belonged to the Antique Auto Club. She enjoyed cake decorating, making candy, and collecting knick-knacks. Mary Ellen was extremely thoughtful, sending cards to family and friends for every occasion.

Mrs. Daley is survived by her sister Beverly Cheatham of Kalamazoo; her brother-in-law John Allen of Vicksburg; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews; Aaron Kowalski of Galesburg, who held a special place in Mary Ellen’s heart and her good friend Boots Heller of Angola. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Art Daley; her sister Barbara Allen; and her brothers David and Robert Mathis.
