Obituary for Lyle Robert "Bob" Jeffrey

Lyle Robert “Bob” Jeffrey, 76, of Bronson entered heaven peacefully surrounded by his wife & children on November 29, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. A burial of ashes will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive guests for visitation Monday, December 5, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with a rosary to be held at 7:00 PM.
Bob was born October 17, 1946 in Hudson, Michigan to Walter and Harriet (Schumaker) Jeffrey. He married his wife Joni on August 9, 1997 in Coldwater, MI. They celebrated 25 years of marriage together. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. During his younger years he owned and operated his own service station in Quincy, Michigan before going to work in upper management at Associated Truck Lines and later Bundy Tubing in Coldwater, Michigan. Upon retirement Bob spent his time on the farm he and his wife had together. Bob loved the outdoors; cutting wood, gardening, hunting, golfing and raising cattle were some of his favorite hobbies to enjoy. He was an avid U of M fan and was a member of the 4th Degree Bronson chapter of the Knights of Columbus where he was instrumental in coordinating the “Monday Coney Dog Night.” Bob also served as a member of the Colon American Legion and St. Mary of Assumption Church with Joni.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and leaves a huge void in the lives of his family & friends. Bob will be remembered as an honorable, loving, giving and straight forward man.
In addition to his wife Joni, Bob is survived by his children Kandy (Tim) Dennison of Ivydale, WV, Michelle (Corey) Avra of Montgomery, Janelle (John) Hempel of Vicksburg, MI, Danielle Bunker of Bronson, Steven (Elise) Case of Portage, MI; his siblings Dan (Ronni) Jeffrey of Statesville, NC, Tom (Cleo) Jeffrey of Jonesville, Karen Fike of Hudson, MI; his grandchildren Stephanie Smith, John (Mandy) Smarr, Heather (Travis) Moss, Caitlin Dennison, Allison (Cody) Barth, Scott (Danielle) Avra, Michael Kessler, Aiden Bunker, Neala Bunker, Arthur Case; great grandchildren Ryan Friend, Nicholas Friend, Jayden Smarr, Kaydence Moss, Oaklee Barth, Wrenlee Barth; his brother and sister-in-laws Larry Whipple, Bob (Kris) Bluhm, Julie Bluhm, Janie (Craig) Lesinski, Janet Lewis, Jackie (Mike) Olma, Judy Jeffrey; his loving nieces and nephews; best friends Dave (Kathy) Barone and his best 4-legged buddy Cooper.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jeffrey, mother and step-father Harriet (Frank Terrill), sister Hazel Whipple and his brothers William & James Jeffrey.
