Obituary for Loren E. Armstrong

Loren Earl Armstrong, 87 of Coldwater passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home.

A memorial service will take place at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Northview Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Bream officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Loren was born April 1, 1932 to Orville and Jessie (Kretzmer) Armstrong in Pittsford. He was a high school graduate who proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force following school. Upon return from the service, he began a long career as an electrician. Loren retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1994 after 20 plus years. He married Audrey Tracy and then later Glenna Phillip-Beard. Glenna preceded him in death in June of 2007. On September 15, 2012 he married Judy Butler/Smith at Northview Christian Church.

Loren was a man of faith and a member of Northview Christian Church. He was a founding father of the Quincy American Legion Post #157. Loren was a skilled wood worker and flower gardener. He enjoyed spending time birdwatching and volunteering at Hospice in Coldwater and Elkhart. Loren will be remembered for his loving and compassionate personality. His true joy in life was being around his family.

Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife Judy Armstrong of Coldwater; his children Lynn, Lorna, and Leslie Armstrong, and Loris Spangles; his step-children Lt. James D. Beard, USN retired, Candy Bauder and Cookie Blatter; his sister Lola Hoffman of Venice, FL; and many grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Audrey Tracy; and his second wife Glenna Armstrong.
