Obituary for Lodema Jane "Dema" Bregg
Lodema Jane Bregg, 89, of Coldwater passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 6, 2022 in Coldwater, MI. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. The family will receive guests for visitation Monday, December 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Known affectionately as “Dema” by friends and family, she was born March 16, 1933 to William and Zelma (Cecil) Noble in Big Woods, KY. On December 24, 1950 she married Joseph E. Bregg, Sr. and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2000. Dema met Joe while working at Shaw Shoe but as they built their life together her career shifted to employment at Quality Springs and ultimately the Coldwater Country Club where she retired after 35 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Coldwater Eagles 1907 and was well known for her baking. Lodema will be dearly missed as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and friend to many.
Dema leaves behind her children Alice (Peet) Decrow formerly of Allen, MI, Joseph (Diana) Bregg, Jr. of Coldwater; her grandchildren Timothy Peet, Nikki Misner, Joe Bregg III, Jennifer Bregg, Autumn Bregg and her several great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Joe, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Judith Pope, and her brothers William, James “Coy,” John “JD,” and Norman Noble.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Branch County Food Pantry or the Branch County Humane Society.
