Obituary for Lloyd J. Reynolds

Lloyd James Reynolds, 79 of Quincy passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor John Blaskie of Athens Congregational Church officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery.

Lloyd was born October 12, 1940 to Bud and Esther (Boston) Reynolds in Coldwater. After graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. After the service he began a long career working as a Health Care Aid at the Coldwater State Home. On May 9, 1967 he married the love of his life, Nancy Price in Bloomington, IN.

Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time going fishing, taking long motorcycle drives, and going mushroom hunting. Lloyd was a John Deere tractor fan. He and Nancy loved to travel and stop in at the casino if one crossed their path. Lloyd’s true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving and caring man with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Lloyd will be dearly missed.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Reynolds of Quincy; his children Lyn Reynolds of Coldwater and Tim Reynolds of Gobles; his sisters Jane Baker of Fort Meyers, FL and Lois Knickenbocker of Strawberry Hill, TN; his grandchildren Devin Maggart of Muskegon, Katrina (Jeff) Stevens of Coldwater, Ryan Reynolds of Caledonia, and Micailan Reynolds of Coldwater; his great grandchildren Branton and Brexton Stevens of Coldwater; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Darrell and Robert Blanchard and Jerry Reynolds; and his sister Patricia Bird.
