Obituary for Linda Sue Hudson

Linda Sue Hudson, 83, of Coldwater, passed away in her sleep following a lengthy illness while at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility on the morning of May 15, 2021.

In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Linda was born on January 3, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan to Thomas B. Temples Sr. and Hazel (Gaines) Temples, the second child and eldest daughter in a family of eight. Being from such a large family, Linda was particularly close to her parents and siblings, and during her life she kept in regular contact with all of her brothers and sisters. She married Gerald J. Hudson of Coldwater on October 9, 1965, and together they had three daughters, Jennifer, Andrea, and Amy. She worked for Federal Mogul in Coldwater from 1958 to 1973 before leaving to focus on raising her daughters and babysitting other children in her neighborhood, and later worked at the Branch County Library in Coldwater until her retirement. Linda’s favorite hobbies included needlework and crocheting, cooking, and she especially liked reading. She also enjoyed bowling and decorating for holidays when her health permitted, but nothing would make her happier than to talk to or visit with friends and family.

Linda is survived by her husband Gerald, her brothers Richard (Pamela) Temples and Larry (Jenny) Temples, both of Waterloo, Indiana, and her sisters Patricia (Larry) Manchester of Salome, Arizona, and Barbara Wert of Cadillac. She is also survived by her daughters Jennifer (Carl) Moore of Boyceville, Wisconsin, and Andrea (Gene) Ritter of Dunkirk, Indiana, as well as nine grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Temples, Thomas B. Temples, Jr., and James Temples and her daughter Amy Murdock.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo School.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
