Leland W. McCurley, 78 of Quincy passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with Cancer.

In following Leland’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Leland was born January 6, 1940 to Charles and Beatrice (Truman) McCurley in Coldwater. He was a hardworking man, starting young working as a farmer and also at the Lakview Cemetery helping with grounds work and digging graves. Leland then worked at Midwest Foundry in Coldwater before accepting a position at Acorn in Quincy where he worked from 1965 until retirement in 1995.

Leland enjoyed being outdoors. He spent time hunting and fishing. Leland was a very good animal trainer, mainly working with dogs, horses, and sheep. He will be remembered as a friendly man with a great sense of humor, his strong-willed and positive outlook on life.

Mr. McCurley is survived by his children Randy (Reneta) McCurley of Tekonsha and Lisa McCurley of Coldwater; his brother Ronald (Ruth) McCurley of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren Deren and Neisha McCurley; and his care-giver Jamie Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Helen McCurley who raised him; his sister Twyla Withington; and his brothers Dick and Dwayne McCurley.
