Obituary for Laura A. Berry

Laura Ann Berry, 74 of Coldwater passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.

In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Laura was born January 7, 1947 to Lyle and Doris (Lane) Barry in Coldwater. She was a very hardworking woman, spending 28 years with the State of Michigan as a Case Worker, taking an early buyout. Laura then took a position at the Walmart Distribution center in 1999 and retired in 2019 as a Transportation Traffic Coordinator. She was married at an early age to Phillip Parker. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1994. After his death, she took another job with Video Connection, where she worked for several years. Laura then met and married Jack Berry on December 30, 1996. Together they created many memories.

Laura was a woman of many interests. She was a former member of the Coldwater Eagles. Laura was an avid car enthusiast, Mustangs in particular. She and Jack were members of the SAACA Mustang Club, traveling and attending many shows together. Laura had a 1996 Cobra and won a 1966 Coupe in a raffle. She very much enjoyed going gambling, whether it was driving a few hours or taking a trip to Las Vegas. Laura had a soft spot for animals and nature, but especially dogs. Her true joy in life was being around her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Laura will be remembered for her heart of gold and loving spirit. She will be missed by many.

Laura is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jack Berry of Coldwater; her children Shannon (John) Taylor of Ft. Wayne, Angie Parker of Coldwater, Tara Travelbee of Union City, and Jenny (Lee) Greenameyer of Angola; her sister Linda Reese of Coldwater; her brother Mark Barry of Quincy; 11 grand and 3 great grandchildren; as well as many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents.
