Obituary for Larry Ostrander, Sr.

Larry Wells Ostrander, Sr., 77, of Quincy, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held in the summer at the lake. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Larry was born August 30, 1943 in Flint, MI to Carl & Rose (Klempirik) Ostrander. He married Marilyn D. Turner on September 21, 1965 in Flint.
Mr. Ostrander had a lifetime career in education. He was a teacher, a counselor, a principal and retired Superintendent of Schools in Grass Lake. After retiring, he started a company that provided school bus driver training for the State of Michigan.
Larry enjoyed being a pilot, boating, motorcycle riding and cruising around in his red Corvette. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. In his younger years, he was a competitive weight lifter and placed 2nd in the nation in his weight class. He loved life at the lake. You could always find Larry riding around in his Mule, visiting with everyone at the resort.
Larry had a big personality and loved to have a good time. He had an infectious laugh that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Marilyn, his children Larry Jr. (Lisa) Ostrander of Stockbridge, Derek (Jenn) Ostrander of Belleville, his brother George (Doris) Ostrander of Florida and his grandchildren Courtney, Brandon, Allison and Justin. www.dutcherfh.com.
