Obituary for Larry L. Marvin
Larry L. Marvin, 76, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Maple Lawn.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper from Lockwood Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, on Tuesday March 21, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Larry was born December 2, 1946 in Quincy, MI to Louis C. & Dorothy B. (Hart) Marvin. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1966 and then attended barber school in Kalamazoo. Larry married JoAnn Archer on March 30, 1967 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2018.
Mr. Marvin worked at Walker Manufacturing and Eckrich for 20 years, retiring in 2004. During that time he had also worked at various barber shops, including Quincy Barber Shop. After his retirement, he continued to cut hair out of his home for several years.
Larry was a member of the Quincy American Legion and passionate for Quincy Sports, having been an athlete in his younger years. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed water sports, riding his snowmobile and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his children, Scott (Dr. Tammy Jechura) Marvin of Albion, Deborah Betts of Quincy; his brother Doug Marvin of Quincy; his grandchildren Logan Betts, Luke Farris and Lillian Marvin. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Linda Marvin.
