Kenneth Anthony “Kenny” Dirschell, 84 of Coldwater passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Paul Redmond of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. A private interment at Oak Grove Cemetery will take place at a later time.

Kenneth was born February 26, 1934 to George and Lydia (Shaffer) Dirschell in Sauk Centre, MN. He was a hardworking man, spending 13 years at Coldwater Brass as a core man, and then 33 years at United Technologies as a saw operator. Kenny also served in the Army National Guard for many years.

Kenny was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and searching for mushrooms. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Kenny was a pretty good athlete. He played fast-pitch softball for many years, and while attending Coldwater High School he set a record for the 100 yard dash. He liked doing woodworking projects, especially building birdhouses. Kenny was also fond of going dancing and listening to music.

Mr. Dirschell is survived by his long-time companion Caroline Zeskoski; his children Diana Holland of Coldwater, Phillip (Susan) Dirschell of Coldwater, Kent (Sheree) Dirschell of Quincy, Keith Dirschell of Quincy, and Paul Dirschell of Coldwater; his sister Marion Gaskill of Quincy; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Clarence, Frances, Sylvester, Erwin, and his twin brother Richard Dirschell, Gladys Pask, and Norma Treacher.
