Obituary for Kathryn I. Murfin

Kathryn I. Murfin, 92, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 12 noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Kathryn was born August 24, 1927 in Seminole, OK to LeRoy & Vivian (Troxel) Sprowl. She married Robert Murfin on March 4, 1946 in Angola, IN. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2010.
Mrs. Murfin worked for many years at Otto and Sons Sporting Goods, where she managed the toy department, AAA Insurance, GTE Telephone, Tomson Insurance and Lyons Drug Store. Kathryn enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and going to the senior center to play Bingo and Dice.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters Penny Russell of Coldwater, Kerry (Gary) Stephens of Quincy, Kathy Brayton of Coldwater, Rebecca (Craig Kilgore) Murfin of Coldwater, her siblings Patricia Loose of Coldwater, Jim (Cherry) Sindell of Florida, her grandchildren Annette (Jim) Littley, Christopher (Melanie) McNall, Michael (Danielle) Champion, Timothy Champion, Richard (Haley) Clark, Jennifer Kratzer, Kelly (Cory) Terris, Jason Nowicki, Todd (Aleesha) Nowicki, Sam (Misty) Brayton, Mashon (Chuck) Allen, Jessy (Justin) Patterson, Dane (Victoria) Earl, Victoria DuBois, William Murfin, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Robert W. Murfin, sister Helen Stewart and brothers Merwin and LeRoy Sprowl.
