Obituary for Kathleen "Kathy" Burdette
Kathleen “Kathy” Helen Burdette, 91, of Bronson passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Laurels of Coldwater. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Dutcher funeral home in Bronson with Mark Peters, Thane Nelson, and Jenny Connely officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
She was born August 6, 1929 to Thomas and Ada (Slater) Morrison in Cleveland, OH. Kathy had worked at the Cleveland Corrugated Box Company as well as Mayers’ Gladiola Farm. On April 6, 1963 she married Jewell D. Burdette in Cleveland, OH and he survives. From 1973 until her passing, she had shared a life in Bronson, MI where she raised her family. She appreciated reading books, magazines, newspapers and especially enjoyed reading the Bible. Kathy also liked cooking, spending time with her pets and had a great love for flowers.
In addition to her husband Jewell, Kathleen is survived by her children, Daniel “Dan” (Lena Schaeffer) Burdette of Broomfield, CO and James “Jamie” (Melissa Smith) Burdette of Britton, MI; Three grandchildren Alivia Burdette, Cameron Burdette and Devon Burdette; Nieces Kaye Grospitch, Barbara Morrison, Eileen Riddell, Beth Base and nephew Bob Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one Brother James “Jim” (Antoinette J. G.) Morrison.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society of Branch County.
