Obituary for Judith Lee Downs
Judith L. Downs, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Sorter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 5 – 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Judy was born July 1, 1943 in Coldwater, MI to Oscar J. & Lucille M. (Williams) Fischer. She married Larry L. Downs on September 5, 1986 in Coldwater.
Judy had a career in sales and marketing management. She served as president of the Oldsmobile Scramble for 15 years and then worked alongside her husband at Identity Marketing for 10+ years until her retirement. She attended the First Baptist Church in Coldwater and loved to follow with brunch at Jeannie’s Diner. Judy was a gifted artist. She loved to paint and draw and enjoyed spending time at the lake. She was most proud of her family and greatly treasured their time together.
Judy is survived by her husband Larry, her children Seth Downs of Coldwater, Amy (William) Garcia of Grand Ledge, Justin Downs of Coldwater, Aaron (Monica) Downs of Coldwater, Erika Downs of Syracuse, NY; her sister Janice Henry of Grand Rapids; her nieces Pamela Boyer, Julie Jacobs & Roxanne Cortright; her grandchildren Bo (Kim) Quimby, Wyatt Quimby, Rich (Ashley) Field, Byron Klingerman, Nathan (Gayle) Garcia, Loren (Joshua) Dutton, Brandon Downs, Nicholas Downs, Austin Downs and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son JR Quimby and her sister Jean Boyer.
