Jimmy “Barney” Raymond, 82, of Coldwater passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. In respect to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 in his Honor. The location of the service is yet to be decided.
He was born May 17, 1938 to Harlow and Frances (Fisher) Raymond in Coldwater, MI. Barney had honorably served his country with the United States Army and had retired from Profile Extrusions in Coldwater. He had been a member of the Coldwater Legion, the CB Radio Club and Coldwater Police Reserves. Jimmy was a loving man that enjoyed motorcycles, NASCAR, classic country music and firearms; but his passion and what he adored were his grandchildren. He was funny and at times loud, he will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Barney is survived by his children Penny (Mark) Corey of Auburn, IN, Rebecca (Bobby) Atkins of Coldwater, MI, Michael (Chastity) Raymond of Fremont, IN; his sister Kathryn McCurly of Coldwater, MI; his five grandchildren Matthew Corey, Brenee Atkins, Connor Raymond, Bailee Atkins, Cole Raymond and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Betty Easterday, Norma Jean Goodhew, Dorothy Green, Helen Gilbert, Nancy Owens; his brothers Robert Raymond, Charles Raymond, Jerry Raymond and Tommy Raymond.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Branch County Veterans Affairs.
