Jerry D. Wiser, 78 of Coldwater passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

A memorial mass will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Coldwater with Very Rev. Fr. Mark Vyverman and Rev. Fr. Paul Redmond officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, with Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Jerry was born October 25, 1939 to Rex and Mary (Hickok) Wiser in Coldwater. After graduation from Coldwater High School, he joined the Army National Guard. On September 12, 1964 he married the love of his life, Mary Pat Lowney in Houghton, MI. Jerry was a hardworking man, becoming a Journeyman Electrician and spending 40+ years working at Kaiser Electric. He also instructed future electricians at BACC for 30+ years, where he taught by his do-it-right the first time and make it perfect philosophy.

Jerry was a man of faith and a long-time member of St. Charles, where he was also 4th Degree -Knights of Columbus. Jerry served many years on the Coldwater Electrical Board and also as a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #469. He loved spending time teaching children, either in class, on the job, or coaching a variety of sports teams. Jerry enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and bowling, and some golf with his father. He lived his life by the mantra of giving unconditional love and respect to others. Jerry also liked to spend time at the family cottage called “Our Golden Pond”. His true joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Pat Wiser of Coldwater; his son James “Jim” Wiser of Livonia; his daughter Michelle (Scott) Cooper of Las Vegas, NV; his brother Jack (Jeane) Wiser of Jenks, OK; his grandchildren Carolynanne Wiser, Austin Vanderpool, and Taylor Vanderpool; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many supportive friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
