Jeanne (Gentry) Rumsey, 85, of Bronson, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at her daughter’s home in South Bend, IN.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church in Bronson with Pastor Tim Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be held, prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bronson. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Jeanne was born November 4, 1934 in Bronson, MI to Andrew & Wilma (Smart) Conklin. She married Ronald L. Rumsey on April 24, 1971 in Colon, MI. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2019.
Mrs. Rumsey worked at the Transgram Toy Factory in Sturgis for 14 years. She also owned and operated a daycare for 30 years. Jeanne was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bronson where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed collecting various items, sewing and a variety of arts and crafts.
Jeanne is survived by her children Sylvia (Bill) Bauer of South Bend, IN, Linda (Mike) Iacino of Golden, CO, Charles Gentry of Bronson, Joannie (Tim) Sands of Jackson, her siblings Mary Ann Ritter of Bronson, Donald (Joanne) Conklin of South Bend, IN, Deloris (Bill) Ritter of Arizona, her grandchildren Michelle, Trisha, Billy, Karlee, Julie Ann, David Leroy Jr., Amber, Natasha, Charles, Walter, Monica, Hilliary, Sierra, many great and great-great grandchildren. Her very special friends include Gloria Draper, Virginia Clinansmith and Edna Wheaton. In addition to her husband Ron, she was preceded in death by her first husband Howard L. Gentry, her son David Gentry, her grandson Aaron Drew Gentry and her half- sister Deborah Miller.
