Obituary for Jean H. Nelson

Jean Henretty Nelson, 85, of Coldwater, was taken into the arms of our Lord on December 12, at Drew’s Place.

Due to COVID, no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Jean was born July 14, 1935 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Marie (Henretty) Locke. She married the love of her life Albert R. Nelson on June 25, 1955 at the First Church of Christ in Lansing.
Jean was devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She also worked as a pharmacy technician for many years at Williams Apothecary in Coldwater and later for the state of Michigan at the prisons in Coldwater and Jackson.
Jean was a member of the Coldwater First Baptist Church. She was a skilled seamstress, having made many clothing items for her family, an excellent cook and enjoyed playing competitive shuffleboard, cards, and reading.
Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years Albert R. Nelson of Coldwater. Her children, Mark (Norma Ruggless) Nelson of Buchanan, Julie (Sam) Griffin of Coldwater, David (Molly) Nelson of Sumner and Brian (Lauri) Nelson of Livonia; Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Richard Locke.
