Obituary for Janice M. Dimmick

Janice M. Dimmick, 80, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a brief illness.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 12:00PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater with Pastor Aaron Chittick officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11:00AM at South Whitley Cemetery in South Whitley, IN. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Janice was born December 21, 1941 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Henry & Norma (Willodean) Beasley. She married Jerry L. Dimmick on September 8, 1957 in Columbia City, IN. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2015.
Janice attended school in Columbia City, IN.
Mrs. Dimmick worked at Voltek as a supervisor for 24 years, retiring in 2001. She previously had worked for Seyfert’s in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Janice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday school and service as a collections counter. She was a great cook who loved watching cooking shows and QVC. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting, drawing, photography and creating stained glass. After retiring from Voltek, Janice and Jerry enjoyed traveling and trying new adventures. Always the avid reader, Janice enjoyed many genres, but most especially historical romance/drama/adventure; a passion she shared with her sister.
Janice treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her children Greg (Deb McDonald) Dimmick of Huntington, IN, Kevin (Sherie) Dimmick of Huntington, IN, Carrie Covey of Coldwater; her siblings Loretta Barnes of Riverside, CA, Nancy (Dale) Smith of Rochester, IN, Linda (Steve) Backus of Akron, IN, Deb Baumgartner of Mentone, IN, Jeff (Amy) Beasley of Mentone, IN; her grandchildren Brad Covey, Jamison Covey, Leecia Dimmick, Brittany Dimmick; great grandchildren Lexie, Raelynn, Gabriel, Elliott and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Tom Huntley and her brothers-in-law Lynn Barnes, Jim Mooney and Jerry Baumgartner.
