Obituary for James N. Robb

James Nelson Robb, 81, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Due to COVID concerns, no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Jim was born July 15, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Robert J. & Elda V. (Awrey) Robb. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor degree in Education and from the Detroit Institute of Technology with a Master’s degree. Jim married Barbara C. Barnhart on May 21, 1960 in Detroit, MI.
Jim taught in the St. Clair Shores Community School System for many years. He relocated to Arizona, opening his own construction business Saguaro Home Builders, which he operated for 11 years. Jim came back to Michigan to work for the Department of Corrections in Sault Ste. Marie, teaching adult education for 14+ years, until he retired. He substitute taught in Coldwater for several years after his retirement.
Jim was an active member of the Pine Ridge Bible Church in Quincy. He was a master builder and very skilled craftsman, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was responsible for many of the building projects at church. Jim enjoyed fishing, but spending time with his family was his greatest joy.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Sheri (Ted) Aken of Vail, AZ, Kevin (LaDonna) Robb of Coldwater, his brothers Gary (Carolanne) Robb of Tucson, AZ, Thom (Muriel) Robb of Harrison, AR, his grandchildren Heather (Tom) Chambers, Elise May, Brandon (Kari) May, Caitlin May, Alex Aken, Savannah (Ryan) Wellman, Tia Robb, Kendra Robb, Alyssa Robb, Daisy (Shawn)Ramsey, Krisy (Steven) Closson, Danielle Musser; great grandchildren Jack, Caroline, June & Fern Chambers, Jameson & Scotlynn May, Paisley & Peter Wellman, Demetrius, Blake & Cooper Closson, McKayla, CJ & Aniston Ramsey, Dylan, Cash, Maverick & Leon Musser.
