Obituary for Helen "Jean" Brayton

Helen Jean Brayton, 87, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Maple Lawn.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home. Interment of ashes will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Jean was born October 30, 1934 in Coldwater, MI to Clyde & Gladys (Buys) Weakley. She married Lee Brayton on September 6, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Girard, MI. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2022.
Mrs. Brayton was a dedicated wife and mother. She spent many years working alongside her husband at their family businesses; Coldwater Products, Branch Co. Tank and Pre-Cast, Certified Transit Mix, Johncock-Brayton Redi-Mix, Certified Sand & Gravel, Brayton Engineering and GTS Transport.
Jean was a member of the Coldwater Elks and spent much of her time traveling to the races with her family.
Jean is survived by her son Todd (Teri) Brayton of Coldwater; daughters-in-law Sally Brayton of Quincy, Becky (Robbie Buhl) Brayton of Westlake, OH; her sister Janice (Bill) Robinson of Coldwater; her sister-in-law Joan Schafer of Coldwater; her grandchildren Spencer (Jackie) Brayton of Coldwater, Jason (Shannon) Brayton of Brook Park, OH, Carly Brayton (Nate Draher) of Westlake, OH, Hunter Brayton of Belleville, Quinn Buhl of Westlake, OH and great grandchildren Bianca Hubbard and Stella Brayton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons Greg and Scott Brayton.
