Obituary for Harold Duane Higbee

Harold Duane Higbee, 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Visitation for Harold will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at California Corners Cemetery.
Harold was born on June 6, 1937 to Elson and Marjorie (Berry) Higbee in California Township, Michigan. He was a graduate of Fremont High School in Fremont, Indiana. Harold married Jeanie L. Doolittle on January 21, 1960 in Branch County, Michigan.
He worked at Midwest Foundry in Coldwater from 1955 until 1987 as a general foreman and then at Sturgis Foundry in Sturgis from 1987 until his retirement in 2000, also as a general foreman.
Harold was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and going camping in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Harold will be remembered as being an excellent role model and willing to help anybody with construction and electrical needs. Above all else he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Jeanie; his children, Karen (Thomas) Reineke of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, Kimberly (Kirk) Hammer of Jefferson, Iowa and Gary (Colleen Rudd) Higbee of Jackson; his grandchildren, Brandon (Rayne) Wright, Jessica Paul, Matthew Reineke, Katherine Paul, Jonathon Reineke, Gergory Paul, Karissa Higbee and Harold Austin Higbee; his great grandchildren, Addison Wright, Ashlyn Wright and Lane Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 2 brothers, Elson Elvin and Gary Lee Higbee.
