Obituary for Harold Lloyd Collins

Harold Lloyd Collins, 91, of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021surrounded by his loved ones in Rochester, MN while under hospice care.
A memorial service will take place Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00AM with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. A private burial has taken place at Evergreen Cemetery.
Harold was born December 15, 1929 in Coldwater to Raymond and Emma (Wilder) Collins. He was a 1948 graduate of Union City High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy Air Corp, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1948 – 1952. After returning home, he married Ethel Dickey on September 28, 1952. Harold worked at the Coldwater State Home and Training School for 36 years before retiring on March 1, 1988.
Harold enjoyed camping (Rolling Squares), gardening, golf, bowling, and playing cards. He belonged to the Merry Mixers square dancing club for 30 plus years. Harold served on the Election Board for 20 years. After retirement, he wintered in Florida for 20 years.
Harold leaves behind his daughter Denise Yennie; his son Jeff (Stephanie) Collins; his granddaughter Heather Yennie; his great granddaughter Hayden King; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ethel Collins, one sister Doris McKeighen and one brother Ora Collins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Branch County Humane Society.
