Obituary for Gwendolyn "Gwen" L. Dirschell
Gwendolyn Louise Dirschell, 86, of Quincy, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Laurels of Coldwater.
A service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater officiated by Fr. Dan Hyman. Prior to the service will be a visitation from 10-11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Gwen was born July 1, 1937, to Walter and Lovisa (Knowles) Bowerman in Coldwater, MI. She attended Bronson High School and went on to get her LPN certification. She worked at the Community Health Center of Branch County as an LPN for many years before retiring.
Ms. Dirschell was a long-time member of the Coldwater Eagles. She enjoyed dancing, playing games at the Laurels, and crafts, especially around the holiday season when she would make Christmas ornaments with her grandchildren. Gwen was a very giving person, always willing to help others when they needed it.
Gwen is survived by her children, Diana Holland of Burr Oak, Phillip Dirschell of Coldwater, Kent (Sheree) Dirschell of Quincy, Keith Dirschell of Quincy, and Paul Dirschell of Coldwater; her brother Dean Bowerman of Centreville; her 9 grandchildren Amy Dirschell, Kevin Dirschell, Kay Dirschell, Jody Dirschell, Josh Dirschell, Heather Holland, Heath Holland, Gavin Dirschell, and Shannon Dirschell; many great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Sally Etheridge, Katherine “Ruth” Watson, and Vern Bowerman; her sister-in-law Sharon Bowerman; and former husband Kenneth Dirschell.
