Condolence: Greg and I had many laughs at University of Cincinnati where he studied at the Conservatory of Music, and I was a grad student in Lit. He enjoyed how I used different voices and accents when I'd read him Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or Shakespeare's King Lear. I enjoyed his quick wit and ability to rhyme anything. After he played at The Pickle Barrel in Cincinnati, I asked him if they paid him. "Only in food," he said. "Well then," I said, "You can eat lasagna till---" "---it comes up on ya," he finished. Not only was I lucky enough to visit the Braytons in Coldwater (Greg bragged about his dad's "Lee Brayton burgers"), he performed on Canada Island at the Spokane World's Fair in 1974. No one who knew Greg could ever forget his great spirit or the songs that came from his creativity. He was always able to see greatness in others and loved his family as much as anyone ever has. I wrote this today because I was listening to Bob Dylan and Wishing I could give Greg a Nobel Prize.

Condolence: Sally and family. I just returned from a funeral and learned of Greg's passing. My heart goes out to you folks. In my eyes, Greg had more talent, more courage and a greater relationship with his Savior Jesus Christ then any man I ever met. For me, so many times he was a miracle worker. I would take my awful lyrics and a really grubby melody that was in my head and I had almost no way to get it out but first he would Braile my lyrics and we'd go through them a few times, then I would try to pick out the melody or sometimes I would have caputured on my little Casio keyboard and after having a fantastic creative session and often laughing together so our sides ached after three hours I would drive back home to Battle Creek playing the cassette of my song and feeling so full of gratitude and happiness. That whole experience produced some of the happiest hours of my life. From 1997 to 2001 I believe we recorded a total of 56 songs. Sally, now at 85 I treasure those songs and those awesome moments with Greg. He was truly a treasure. I want to thank you and the boys for sharing him with me.I know in my heart that he is now with Jesus. Art Fettig

Condolence: Dear Sally: It seems that this world has lost yet another good person. "And the seasons they go round and round..." My best memory of Greg was way back in high school when we were doing some guitar playing work for a church in Tekonsha. On one of our trips there, Greg convinced me that he could drive... and I let him. And, he wasn't bad! I am so very sorry for your loss but know that he will live on in all of our hearts forever.

Condolence: Sally: I was so shocked to see the notice of Greg's passing. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Never will I forget one night I took Greg home after a Rotary Show, back in the day when we all wore makeup. On the way he asked me to stop at the Midway Bar and get him some cigarettes, which I did. He laughed so hard when I told him I was getting creepy looks from the bar folks when they saw me with makeup on which I did not realize it until it was too late. I still have all the recordings we did together and often play them and now will cherish them more than ever. I am proud and blessed to have know you and Greg. May GOD care for Greg and give you and your sons strength and comfort.

Very Sincerely, Marcia Enos Pechota

Condolence: To Sally, Spencer, and Jason. I'm sorry for your loss. I remember the many times growing up going down in your dad's studio and him showing us things and playing music. Best one was I remember when you all were building the walls for the bike track and your dad was out with Sally cutting the boards and my dad asked Greg how's it going and I remember him saying " It go better is Sally marked the lines better for me to cut" He was a great guy and will be missed. I still have some of his recordings so he will still be heard.

Condolence: Dear Sally and family. We are so sorry to hear that Greg has left our earth. He certainly leaves behind a fine legacy for his family to remember and sustain you for years to come. One of my fondest memories was working on the Hospice Duck Race song with Greg and being invited to the studio to hear the recording! You have both given so much to our community with your beautiful love and dedication to one another and to all of those who live in Branch County. So grateful also for Greg's participation in the Coldwater Reunion Music Festival. It wouldn't have been complete without him. May love and light be with all of you at this very difficult time. Condolence: Sally and boys: I am so sorry to hear of Greg's passing. He was an exceptional man and an amazing singer/guitar player. I always enjoyed watching him perform when I was present where he was performing. He has fought this battle for a long time and God finally decided to take him home where he can see and be healthy.
