Obituary for Gerald K. Martin

Gerald Kenneth Martin, 82, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at his home under hospice care.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home of Bronson.

Gerald was born July 10, 1941 to Robert and Emma (Moritz) Martin in Buffalo, NY. He married Beverley E. Guy, December 24, 1966, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Gerald joined the United States Army on August 8, 1978, serving in the Vietnam War twice, and doing 2 tours in Germany. While in Germany, Gerald was active with the youth center, and coached the youth center baseball team with Beverley. While serving in the military, Gerald earned a National Defense Service Medal, a Bronze Star Medal, and a Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. In 1983, he retired from the United States Army and started working at Daemler Chrysler Corporations in calibration before his retirement in 2001.

Mr. Martin enjoyed golfing, fishing, attending concerts with Beverley, hallmark movies, and murder mysteries, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Beverley; his children Kim (Steve) Fox of Bronson, Steven (Becky) Martin of Meridianville, AL, and Kathy (Steve) Denham of Trinity, AL; his brothers Donnie Martin of Derby, NY, and Howard (Mary Lou) Martin of Derby, NY; his grandchildren Blake (Erin) Fox, Kaitlyn McGinnis, Austin Martin, Justin Martin, and Brooke Fox; and many nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his siblings John Martin, Marshall Martin, Jesse Martin, Kevin Martin, Denny Martin, Paul Martin, Wesley Martin, Imogene Gorton, Kathleen Somich, and Claudia McRay.
