George was born March 4, 1940 in Coldwater, MI to George & Edith (King) Hawver. He served in the Army National Guard and married the love of his life for 59 years, Joyce A. Rarick on September 1, 1963 in Reading.
Mr. Hawver owned and operated Hawver Construction for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was instrumental in the building of the addition to the church. George served on many church boards, including the Elder Board, and helped with maintaining the buildings and the grounds. George also helped with building projects for Habitat for Humanity. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed cutting wood, camping, traveling, hunting and fishing. He volunteered with Cub Scouts and enjoyed attending 50’s dances.
