Obituary for Gary Wayne Kosier

Gary W. Kosier, 79, of Homer, formerly of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his home in Homer, MI. He was surrounded by his loving family. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Gary was born July 25, 1943 in Hillsdale, MI to Olin & Evelyn (Hefflinger) Kosier. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force, and gained the rank of AFC before departing. He married the love of his life, Kate M. Roscoe, on October 19, 1984 in Coldwater, MI. They were married for 38 years and loved taking long walks, bowling, as well as playing cards together. He treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his son, and his many grandchildren. Gary was a tool and die journeyman for over 30 years, working most recently for the company Bentler Automotive. He took great pride in his work, and would regularly utilize his skills to fix things around the family home.
He loved sports and spent many years coaching little league. Gary was an avid fan of NASCAR. He also loved sprint car racing and very often took his son to race go karts, and later, sprint cars.
Gary is survived by his wife: Kate Kosier of Homer; his son Adam Kosier of Homer, daughter in law Alicia Kosier of Homer, step daughter Heather Aker of Coldwater; brother Perry Hastings of Warsaw, IN, sister-in-law Carol Kosier of Coldwater; his grandchildren Raechel Tucker, Louden Tucker, Ava Tucker, Lauren Kosier and Harley Kosier. He was preceded in death by his siblings Wesley “Pork” Kosier, Nancy Duck and Doug Hastings.
