Frank M.  Tripp
Frank M. Tripp, 85, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Grand Vista in Marshall.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 5:00- 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will take place at a later date at Mason Cemetery in Coldwater.
Frank was born May 24, 1932 to George E. and Beulah P. (Raymond) Tripp in Flint. After graduating from Coldwater High School in 1950, he entered the United States Navy on November 9, 1951 and was honorably discharged on November 8, 1955 having received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Frank married the love of his life Marie L. Rice on January 20, 1951 in Bronson and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2015. Frank had a number of jobs; farming, car salesman for Way Automotive in Coldwater and at Clark Equipment in Battle Creek. His major career move was transitioning to Southern Michigan Bank and Trust and ultimately becoming their Vice President. He purchased SoMiCo Supply Company in 1970 and remained its owner until his retirement in 1998.
He was involved in his community and served as a board member on the Branch County Community Health Center, Branch County Federal Saving and Loan and the Hope House. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Frank was a skilled woodworker who donated his talents to many organizations and children. When not in his woodshop, Frank could be found fishing or spending time with his beloved Marie.
Frank is survived by his daughter; Deborah (Robert Jr.) McKinley of Coldwater, his grandchildren; Robert (Kelli) McKinley III, David (Rashelle) McKinley and Andrew (Kristen) McKinley all of Coldwater, his great grandchildren; Clay, Kyle, Kayla, Carlie, Chelsea, Paislie, Alyson, Josilyn, Jillian, Bryce, Tyson, Ava and Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, his 3 sisters and 1 brother.
