Evelyn Marie Aldrich, 84, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. Cremation has taken place and no services for Evelyn will be held at this time.
She was born January 12, 1936 to Bernard and Emma (Mead) Velting in Marshall, MI. Evelyn had worked for Federal Home Insurance Company in Battle Creek, MI. The company was purchased by HBJ Insurance and she moved to follow her company to Orlando, FL and retired as an office supervisor after 20 years of service. She remained in Florida for 12 years following her retirement. Evelyn found joy in gardening, canning, bird watching, reading and had a love for dogs and cats. She also liked music like country, Elvis, and the Moody Blues. Traveling had been an ambition of Evelyn’s even venturing to Jamaica and Mexico. In 2003, Evelyn moved to Chapala, Mexico for the weather and adventure and lived there until 2007. While in Mexico she had a special ring made with 9 diamonds in it, one for each grandchild. Evelyn’s passion was her family, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; one of her most favorite memories was watching her great grand babies play at a family reunion, deeming that day as “the best thing ever.”
Evelyn is survived by her 4 children Kenneth Aldrich of Rodney, MI, James (Jeanette) Aldrich of Remus, MI, Julie (Randall McPherson) Robertson of Bethlehem, GA, Brian (Brandie) Aldrich of Tekonsha, MI; her brother Arnold Velting of Sodus, MI; 9 grandchildren James (Jacqueline) Aldrich Jr., Nathan (Lacey) Aldrich, Jennifer (Danny) Crumbley, Josh (Erin) Geairn, Gavin (McKayla) Robertson, Chris Aldrich, Andrew Aldrich, Kaitlyn (Austin Coe) Aldrich, Alyssa Aldrich; 12 great grandchildren Kailyn (Hunter) Adcox, Jacob Cheek, Addison Crumbley, Wylie Geairn, Zoe Geairn, Claire Geairn, Sawyer Geairn, Beatrice Robertson, Ely Aldrich, Olivia Aldrich, Louen-James Aldrich, Esme’ Aldrich and many loving nieces and nephews.
